Woman Seriously Injured in Apple Valley Crash

A woman was seriously injured in a crash in Apple Valley Sunday. The major accident occurred near the intersection of Locust Lane and Bear Valley Road around 11:23 a.m.

According to Apple Valley Sheriff’s officials, the driver of a Chevrolet Blazer made a left onto westbound Bear Valley from Locust Lane. For unknown reasons, she stopped abruptly in the eastbound lanes. An eastbound Chevrolet 1500 then crashed into the Blazer.

Subsequently, the driver of the Blazer, 64-year-old Judith Harrison, was airlifted to the hospital. The Chevrolet 1500 driver, 34-year-old Walter Reddington, was treated for his injuries at the scene.

Police closed down Bear Valley Road from Cottontail Lane to Westmont Road while they investigated. The Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station is investigating the crash. If you have information regarding the accident, please call the station at (760) 240-7400.

A Dangerous Road?

Bear Valley Road has been the site of numerous crashes in recent months. In December, a driver died in a major accident near Dunia Road. Prior to that, another driver was seriously injured after his Jeep rolled multiple times on the roadway near Highway 18. Last July, a motorcyclist died in a crash with a semi on Bear Valley Road near Ninth Avenue.

“We sorry to hear of another major crash in the High Desert. We hope the injured driver recovers quickly from her injuries,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
