Victorville Pursuit Suspect Arrested After Causing Crash

Police arrested a Victorville pursuit suspect who crashed into a police vehicle early Thursday morning. A deputy spotted a white Ford Mustang with expired tags near the intersection of 7th Street and La Paz Drive. The officer was identifying the driver when he drove away at a high rate of speed.

The driver, 35-year-old Andrew Adkins of Victorville, then led police on a 7-mile pursuit. He drove erratically, swerving into oncoming traffic and running stop signs. He also crashed into a marked police vehicle.

Victorville Pursuit Suspect is Convicted Felon

Police ended the chase by performing a pursuit intervention technique (PIT) at the intersection of Denham Lane and Pismo Lane around 1:30 a.m. San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials said Adkins is a convicted felon and was illegally in possession of a firearm. Police arrested Adkins for evading a peace officer, assault with a deadly weapon, and unlawful possession of a firearm.

“We’re thankful police successful detained this suspect before he could hurt anyone with his reckless driving,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
