Victims of Payday Loan Scam Will Receive Refund

Victims who were scammed by AMG Services, an online payday lender, will receive a refund from a recent settlement. The payday loan scheme was run by former race car driver Scott Tucker, who has been convicted of criminal charges for his role in the exploitative .

Tucker issued payday loans and routinely charged interest rates of 700 to 1,000 percent, surpassing the legal limit for payday loans in states that regulate the practice.

More than a million individuals will be receiving refunds from the $505 million settlement. It is the largest litigated settlement in the history of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

Who is Eligible for a Refund from the Settlement?

Victims who may be eligible for a refund are those who took out loans between January 2008 and January 2013 from AMG or any of its affiliates. They include 500FastCash, Advantage Cash Services, Ameriloan, OneClickCash, Star Cash Processing, UnitedCashLoans and USFastCash.

Last year, Tucker was convicted of 14 criminal charges, including racketeering, and is serving a 16-year sentence.

“This settlement is a significant win for consumer rights,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
