Have You Seen Indio Hit-and-Run Suspect who Killed Pedestrian?

Police are looking for the hit-and-run suspect who struck and killed a pedestrian in Indio Thursday evening. According to the Indio Police Department, a man was crossing Calhoun Street south of Taurus Avenue around 5:30 p.m. when he was struck by a light-colored pickup truck. The driver fled the scene.

The victim died at the scene. His identity has not yet been released. Police do not have a description of the driver, but the full-sized pickup truck likely has some front-end damage. Anyone who witnessed the hit-and-run or who has information on the vehicle in question should contact the Indio Police Department at (760) 391-4057.

The crash shut down the intersection of Taurus and Calhoun for several hours. This is the 29th pedestrian fatality in the Coachella Valley in 2016, which has been a particularly deadly year for pedestrians both locally and nationally.

“Please get in touch with the police department if you have any information on this suspect. We can’t allow reckless drivers who lack the decency to stop for their victims to remain on our roadways,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
