Rollover Crash Victim Airlifted for Injuries

A rollover crash victim was airlifted to a trauma center after she was injured on Highway 18 in Apple Valley two weeks ago. The two-vehicle collision occurred at Bass Hill Road and Highway 18 around 5:35 p.m. According to the Apple Valley Sheriff’s station, the driver of a Jeep Grand Cherokee had just left Walmart and turned north on Bass Hill Road when she was struck by a Buick traveling west on Highway 18. The Buick driver allegedly ran a red light, causing the collision.

The impact caused the Jeep to roll over and crash into a traffic sign. The Jeep driver was trapped in her upside-down vehicle until firefighters arrived. They extracted her from the vehicle using the jaws of life. She was then airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for her injuries. The driver of the Buick did not report injuries.

Police shut down Bass Hill Road between Highway 18 and Westlund Road while they cleared the scene. They also briefly closed the two left turn lanes on Highway 18. The Apple Valley Sheriff’s station is investigating the rollover crash.

“We hope this rollover crash victim recovers quickly from her injuries. Drivers need to slow down and obey traffic signals so these senseless accidents can be avoided,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
