Man Critically Injured in Palm Springs Pickup Truck Accident

A bicyclist was critically injured in a pickup truck accident in Palm Springs on Tuesday. The crash occurred around 12 a.m. at the intersection of Ramon Road and Crossley Road. The bicyclist, a Cathedral City man, was traveling north on Crossley in the southbound lane when he was struck by an eastbound Chevrolet Silverado. The bicyclist flew up onto the hood of the truck and was thrown to the ground when the truck came to a stop.

The bicyclist was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. Eastbound Ramon Road was shut down from San Luis Rey to Landau Boulevard while police investigated the pickup truck accident. Authorities were on the scene until roughly 7 a.m. and lanes were reopened. Police do not expect that drugs or alcohol were involved in the incident.
