Do You Have Information on Victorville Hit-and-Run Suspect?

Police are searching for a hit-and-run suspect who injured a woman and her dog in Victorville last Tuesday. A 51-year-old woman was walking her dog across Seventh Street near Circle Drive around 9 p.m. when they were both struck. The driver immediately fled the scene. The woman was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Her dog was reportedly limping after the crash but did not seem to suffer major injuries.

The hit-and-run suspect was driving a black BMW with chrome wheels. Police do not have a description of the driver yet, but anyone with information is encouraged to contact Victorville Police at (760) 241-2911.

Hit and run crashes have been on the rise since 2009, according to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) data. Pedestrians are often the victims of these hit-and-run crashes, especially fatal ones. According to the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, one in five pedestrian fatalities is the result of a hit-and-run.

“If you have information on this pedestrian hit-and-run, please contact authorities right away. Drivers need to understand that leaving the scene of an accident is a crime that carries serious consequences,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
