Police Searching for Suspect Who Struck Patrol Car

Police are searching for a hit-and-run suspect who struck a sheriff’s deputy patrol car in Victorville early Sunday morning. The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. at the intersection of Mariposa Road and Nisqualli Road.

According to the Victorville Sheriff’s Department, the deputy was driving southbound on on Mariposa. When he entered the intersection, a westbound pickup truck struck his patrol car. The pickup truck driver failed to stop at the red light, causing the accident. He then failed to stop after crashing into the deputy, instead fleeing the scene. The deputy was taken to the hospital for minor injuries and has since been released.

Suspect Driving Chevrolet Silverado with Front Passenger Side Damage

The pickup truck was last scene entering northbound I-15, and police continue to search for the vehicle. The vehicle is described as a late model 4-door Chevrolet Silverado, either black or another dark color. The truck likely has extensive damage to the front passenger side. Anyone with information about the suspect can contact the Victorville Police Department at (760) 241-2911.

“We’re glad to hear the deputy is recovering from his injuries. We hope authorities are able to catch the hit-and-run suspect quickly,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
