Hit-and-Run Collision Suspect Arrested, Injured Passenger Sought

Police arrested the suspect who caused a high speed chase and a hit-and-run collision in Indio Friday afternoon. After officers attempted to serve the woman an arrest warrant, she fled in her vehicle with a passenger. Police began the pursuit of the suspect around 1:30 p.m.

Indio Police say the suspect sped down I-10 at speeds over 100 mph. Due to the safety concerns of the high-speed pursuit, officers had to terminate the chase. About 10 minutes later, the suspect crashed into an SUV on Avenue 44 between East Circle Drive and Apache Street. The crash caused her vehicle to roll over. The woman then fled the scene on foot.

Police Search for Suspect’s Passenger in Hit-and-Run Collision

Police found the woman some time later and arrested her for causing the hit-and-run collision. Officials say blood was found in her crashed vehicle, but they believe it is likely from her passenger, who has not been found. They say the passenger might be seriously injured.

“The driver’s actions put many motorists in danger, and now her own passenger might be seriously hurt. This behavior is inexcusable,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
