Fiery Accident Snarls Traffic on 15 Freeway

A fiery accident shut down all lanes of southbound I-15 in Hesperia Friday night. The collision occurred around 10:22 p.m just south of Oak Hills Road. Two vehicles were involved in the crash, but other details of the crash have not been reported. One of the vehicles caught fire as a result of the accident.

Firefighters arrived on scene and put the fire out in about 15 minutes. Police say one person received CPR at the scene. At least one person was taken to Desert Valley Medical Center for life-threatening injuries.

Motorists experienced significant delays on the southbound 15 freeway for several miles following the fiery accident. Traffic came to a standstill, prompting some drivers to turn around to exit the freeway.

Exiting the Freeway During Traffic Delays

Waiting in traffic when there is a major accident ahead can be extremely frustrating. However, this frustration is no reason to compromise your safety by making unsafe maneuvers to exit the interstate. Regardless of the traffic situation, drivers should always wait until they reach the next available exit to get off the freeway. The exception would be if police officers are redirecting traffic around the accident.

“We are praying for the victims of this accident. Remember to continue following traffic laws, even if an accident is causing major delays. Your safety is more important than getting to your destination on time,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
