Father Killed in Yucca Valley Single-Vehicle Crash

A driver died in a single-vehicle crash in Yucca Valley last month. Police have identified 22-year-old Matthew Corral of Yucca Valley as the victim of the fatal crash on Highland Trail near Bannock Trail.

According to the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Department, Corral was driving his Ford Expedition westbound on the dirt road when he lost control. The SUV rolled over twice, coming to rest on its roof and ejecting Corral.

Family Injured in Single-Vehicle Crash

The victim’s girlfriend, Kimberly Lehmann, was in the passenger seat during the crash. Their two children, a 1-year-old and a 3-year-old, were riding in the back seat. All three sustained minor injuries and were taken to Desert Regional Medical Center for evaluation.

The fatal single-vehicle crash remains under investigation by the Major Accident Investigation Team. It is not clear whether Corral was wearing a seat belt

“Our prayers are with the victim’s young family. Remember that wearing your seat belt almost eliminates your risk of being ejected from your vehicle in a crash. Don’t risk leaving your loved ones too soon by failing to buckle up,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
