Reward Offered for Identity of Hit-and-Run Driver

A 62-year-old bicyclist was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on July 31, and his family is offering a reward to anyone who can identify the driver. Duane Darling was biking on Cajalco Road around 8 p.m. when he was hit by a Ford F-150. The driver fled the scene.

The bicyclist was transported to Riverside County Regional Medical Center, where he passed away from his injuries. Investigators say the suspect’s truck likely has damage to the front-end and passenger-side headlight. According to Darling’s family, the bicyclist was familiar with the route where he was struck. They also say his bike had a safety light. The family is offering a $1,000 reward to anyone who can identify the driver. More information is available at hitandrunjustice.com.

Anyone who has information about the hit-and-run driver is urged to call the Riverside CHP at (951) 637-8000.

“Our hearts are with the victim’s family. We hope a witness is able to come forward with information that will help police catch the hit-and-run driver,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
