Drunk Driver Faces Child Endangerment Charges

A drunk driver who caused a rollover crash in Coachella has been charged with DUI causing injury and child endangerment. Police arrested 30-year-old Juvenal Gasca-Garcia after he crashed his vehicle, injuring four occupants. The accident occurred just before 7 p.m. Saturday on Avenue 50 west of Tyler Street.

Police say Gasca-Garcia was driving the SUV on Avenue West when the vehicle flipped over multiple times. A woman and three children in the vehicle all suffered injuries in the crash. One of the children was airlifted to a hospital for serious injuries. The other three injured in the accident were then taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

Gasca-Garcia was then arrested and charged with two counts of drunk driving and three counts of child endangerment. He pleaded not guilty to the charges and is due back in court September 1.
