What Caused Victorville Rollover Crash on I-15?

A driver was detained after he caused a rollover crash in Victorville Thursday. The crash occurred just after 3 p.m. near the southbound I-15 off-ramp on Roy Rogers Drive. Police say the driver of a grey Honda sedan rear-ended a black GMC Sierra.

The crash sent the Sierra off the freeway and into the dirt shoulder, where it rolled over. The Honda crashed into a tree. The Sierra driver, a 60-year-old Victorville man, was taken to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for moderate injuries. The Honda driver, a 20-year-old Riverside man, refused medical care for his injuries. He was detained for unspecified vehicle and penal code violations.

The rollover crash is still under investigation. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), about 28% of crashes are rear-end collisions. Rear-end crashes can occur because of various factors, from driving distracted to speeding to driving under the influence.

“We’re hoping for a quick recovery for the victim of this rollover crash,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
