One person was killed in a three-car crash in Desert Hot Springs Thursday night. The crash occurred around 7:10 near Mission Lakes Boulevard and Sonora Drive. Officers received reports about a head-on crash. They arrived to find three cars were involved in the collision.

One of the drivers had to be cut out of their vehicle. That driver was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center, along with four other people involved in the crash. One of the passengers passed away at the hospital. The third driver was not injured in the crash.

Police are still investigating the cause of the collision, but they do not suspect drugs and alcohol to be factors. All three cars sustained serious damage.

Anyone with information about the three-car crash is asked to contact Sgt. Larry Essex of the Desert Hot Springs Police Department at (760) 329-6411 ext. 322.
