A child was airlifted after she was injured in a school bus crash last Monday afternoon in Victorville. The accident occurred at 2:57 p.m. at the intersection of Ridgecrest Road and Pebble Beach Drive. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the bus was traveling west on Pebble Beach Drive when it collided with a Honda Accord heading west on Ridgecrest Road.

The Victor Valley Unified High School District school bus was carrying two children and the driver, none of whom were injured. The driver of the Honda, a 60-year-old woman, was taken to Desert Valley Hospital for her injuries. She was carrying two minor female passengers. One of the girls was seriously injured and was airlifted to a trauma center. The other girl was picked up by her mother.

The cause of the crash appears to be a red light violation. According to witnesses, the school bus had a green light at the time of the crash. However, Victorville CHP are still investigating the school bus crash.

“We’re praying for this child’s recovery. Just last week someone crashed into a Victorville school bus. Fortunately that bus was not carrying children, but this time there were children on board. Drivers need to slow down and keep our roads safe for these kids,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
