Seven people were hospitalized after a major accident in Phelan Wednesday night. Two vehicles were involved in the crash at the intersection of Duncan Road and Johnson Road. Around 9 p.m., a sedan carrying three male passengers was traveling west on Duncan Road when the driver t-boned a northbound Pontiac.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the sedan was traveling at least 70 MPH when the driver failed to stop at the two-way stop sign. The Pontiac was carrying a female driver and three young children.

According to San Bernardino County Fire, one male was ejected from the sedan and another was partially ejected. The driver and a passenger were both extricated from the vehicle.

Witnesses on the scene were able to help get the children out of the Pontiac and render aid until authorities arrived. Four fire engines, six ambulances and three airships responded to the major accident. All seven involved in the crash were transported to various hospitals for treatment. Four people suffered major injuries and the other three sustained moderate injuries.

“We’re praying for everyone involved in this crash. This is such a horrific example of what can happen as a result of unsafe driving practices,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
