1 Million Mercedes-Benz Vehicles Recalled

Automaker Daimler AG has recalled more than 1 million Mercedes-Benz vehicles worldwide for an airbag issue. Faulty wiring in the steering column can cause the driver-side airbag to spontaneously deploy.

According to the company, minor injuries including cuts and bruises have occurred due to the defect. No deaths have resulted from the defective airbags. This recall is unrelated to the Takata airbag recall.

What Vehicles are Recalled?

Nearly 500,000 of the recalled vehicles are in the U.S. The vehicles include 2012-2018 model year A, B, C and E-Class cars, along with CLA, GLA and GLC SUVs. Visit safercar.gov to look up your vehicle by VIN if you are concerned about a recall.
