Victorville Pedestrian Hit-and-Run Suspect Arrested in Hesperia

Police have arrested the drunk driver responsible for a pedestrian hit-and-run in Victorville early last month. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, 28-year-old Kenyon Buchanan of Hesperia was driving south on Hesperia Road when he struck a 60-year-old female pedestrian near Bear Valley Road.

Buchanan then fled the scene in his 2000 Toyota Corolla. The pedestrian hit-and-run happened around 8:30 p.m.

Police arrived to find the pedestrian lying in the roadway. She was airlifted to a trauma center with a serious head injury and a leg fracture. She is reportedly in stable condition.

Police tracked down Buchanan at his Hesperia apartment later Sunday night. He was arrested for felony hit and run and driving under the influence resulting in bodily injury.

“Being under the influence not only impairs your judgment while driving, but it can also lead to subsequent poor decisions, like leaving the scene of an accident. We’re praying the victim is able to fully recover from her injuries,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
