Victorville Man Critically Injured in Crash with Semi

A driver was critically injured Thursday after his vehicle crashed into the back of a semi truck. The major accident occurred just before 4 p.m. on the 16300 block of Green Tree Boulevard near Sixth Avenue.

Did a Reckless Corvette Driver Cause the Crash?

Ronnie Young, 28, says his 20-year-old nephew Eric Pollard was driving the BMW involved in the crash. Pollard was following Young and had stopped at the light. Young says a silver Corvette caused Pollard to crash into the semi, either by cutting him off or committing some other reckless maneuver. Witnesses confirmed this, saying the Corvette was driving erratically moments before the crash.

The BMW was pushed into the under-ride steel guards of the semi. Photos of the scene show the BMW almost completely destroyed. Fortunately, the driver was able to walk out of the vehicle and is being treated at a hospital. His current condition is unknown, but authorities say he was critically injured in the crash.

Police shut down Green Tree Boulevard between Yates Road and Greenbriar Drive for an hour while they cleared the scene. The investigation is ongoing, and it is unclear whether the Corvette driver has been located or cited.

“Considering the damage the vehicle sustained, it’s a miracle the driver escaped this crash with his life. Our thoughts are with him as he recovers,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
