Underage Drinking Leads to Serious Crash in Victorville

Four people were ejected from a vehicle in an underage drinking incident in Victorville early Saturday morning. Police responded to the crash on Hesperia Road near Seneca Road around 12:42 a.m.

The driver of a purple Dodge Durango was traveling south on Hesperia Road when he lost control at a curve. The Durango rolled over several times, then struck a light pole on the shoulder. During the crash, four occupants were thrown from the vehicle. The driver, 18-year-old Andrew Villegas, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence causing injury. He is being held at the High Desert Detention Center in lieu of $100,000 bail.

Two teenage girls were airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center for unknown injuries. Eighteen-year-old Rigoberto Rosales, and a 10-year-old male were also airlifted with major injuries. A 16-year-old male victim was airlifted to Desert Valley Hospital for minor injuries.

Hesperia Road was closed in both directions for several hours following the crash. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but it is clear that underage drinking played a role. It is not clear whether speed was also a factor in the crash.

“We’re praying for all the victims of this horrible crash. This teenager should not have been drinking at all, let alone driving a vehicle full of people, including a young boy,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
