Sheriff’s Deputy Injured in Thanksgiving Night Pursuit

A Victorville Sheriff’s deputy was injured Thanksgiving night during a police pursuit. Authorities say the deputy made a traffic stop near the intersection of Mojave Drive and El Evado Road at 10:23 p.m. The driver stopped initially, but then he fled the scene, crashing several times.

The deputy followed the suspect, who proceeded to drive recklessly through residential neighborhoods. The driver struck a parked pickup truck, then drove through several front yards before striking an electrical box and a parked minivan. His vehicle came to a stop in the 14400 block of Queen Valley Road and he fled on foot.

Suspect Hit Sheriff’s Deputy with Heavy Object

The deputy chased the suspect, following him over a fence. That’s when the suspect allegedly struck the deputy with a heavy object, injuring his back. The officer had to be taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police have not released a description of the police pursuit suspect, and he remains at large. Anyone with information about him should contact the Victorville Sheriff’s Station at (760) 241-2911.

“We wish the injured deputy and speedy recovery. If you have any information about this suspect, please contact the police right away,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
