Police Chase Suspect Causes Fiery Collision

Police arrested the police chase suspect who caused a fiery collision after initiating a high-speed chase through Apple Valley Friday. The suspect, 63-year-old Randall Lee Cline, failed to stop when officers attempted a traffic stop near Navajo Road and Highway 18 around 2 p.m. Authorities say Cline’s Ford Taurus had no license plates.

The police chase suspect took off toward Navajo road and Sitting Bull Road. He fled at speeds over 100 mph, passed multiple vehicles and blew several stop signs. Cline eventually crashed into a Ford Ranger near Tussing Ranch Road and Deep Creek Road. The Taurus erupted in flames. Cline then fled on foot.

Police Chase Suspect Charged with Hit-and-Run

After a short foot pursuit, police took the suspect into custody. He was first taken to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for his injuries. Authorities then booked him into West Valley Detention Center. He faces charges of felony evading a peace officer and hit-and-run causing injury.

On Monday, police arrested a driver who initiated a high-speed chase in Victorville. The driver also exceeded 100 mph and caused a collision. The suspect was also fleeing a traffic stop because his vehicle did not have license plates.

“These high speed chases are out of control. They put innocent motorists in danger, not to mention pedestrians. Drivers who lead authorities on these pursuits should face serious consequences,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
