Listeria Threat Prompts Frozen Food Recall

A frozen food recall by CRF Frozen Foods includes fruits and vegetables under 42 brand names. The company, which operates out of Pasco, Washington, says they are issuing the voluntary recall because the products may have come in contact with Listeria.

The initial recall was announced a week ago, but it was expanded yesterday to include more products. These products include anything manufactured or processed in the company’s facility since May 1, 2014. All the products have sell by/best by dates between April 2016 and April 2018.

The frozen food recall includes 358 products, such as broccoli, kale, sweet potatoes and blueberries.

Symptoms of Listeriosis—the infection caused by Listeria—include fevers, headaches, nausea and diarrhea. More serious symptoms can occur in young children, the elderly, pregnant women and anyone with a weakened immune system.

CRF Frozen Foods urges consumers with questions to call the hotline at (844) 551-5595.

“Listeria can be extremely dangerous, especially to young children and and those with weak immune systems. Take the time to check your freezer for these products and discard them right away,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
