Cathedral City Crash Causes Traffic Congestion

Two people suffered injuries in a Cathedral City crash Tuesday morning at the Whitewater Wash. Around 8:30 a.m., a Ford sedan collided with a pickup truck on Vista Chino. Both drivers suffered injuries in the crash. Emergency responders transported both victims to Desert Regional Medical Center.

The Ford was totaled in the crash, while the truck sustained major damage. Police shut down westbound lanes for about an hour, causing traffic delays. However, police had the scene cleared by 9:30 a.m.

Crash Adds to Existing Delays

Traffic was worsened by the road work taking place near the crash site. Crews are currently working on a repaving project on Vista Chino between Gene Autry Trail and Clubhouse View Drive. The roadwork has shut down several lanes. It has also added to existing traffic delays from a Cathedral City road rehabilitation project. That project has been taking place along Vista Chino for several months and is expected to be continue through June.

“We hope both of the drivers injured in this crash make a full and fast recovery. Remember to exercise caution when driving through road these areas undergoing roadwork,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
