Biker Airlifted After Vehicle Versus Motorcycle Collision

A biker suffered serious injuries in a vehicle versus motorcycle collision in Victorville Saturday. The motorcycle crash occurred around 8:20 p.m. at the intersection of Bear Valley Road and Cantina Road. Police say a black Kia Spectra collided with a Kawasaki motorcycle at the intersection.

The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries, including a leg fracture. He was airlifted to a trauma center for treatment. The Kia driver also sustained unknown injuries and was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center.

Police are still investigating the vehicle versus motorcycle collision. The crash shut down Bear Valley Road at Mesa Linda while the air ambulance arrived and police investigated.

The Victor Valley has seen a number of motorcycle accidents during the past few weeks. Last week, a biker suffered severe injuries in a solo motorcycle crash in Hesperia. Another was airlifted from a crash in Apple Valley the week before.

The warmer weather usually encourages more bikers to take to the roads. This leads to an increase in crashes during the summer. According to data collected from Progressive, most motorcycle accidents occur during the months of June, July and August. Furthermore, Saturdays during the summer are the most dangerous days for motorcyclists.
