An 8-year-old boy was one of six people injured in a crash on I-10 in Indio Monday afternoon. The accident occurred around 11:45 a.m. on westbound I-10 west of Jefferson Street. Police say a Honda Pilot and a Honda CR-V were involved in the collision.

The 8-year-old boy suffered serious injuries in the accident. Emergency responders then airlifted the victim to the hospital. Five other victims—two adults and three minors—were also taken to the hospital. Their injuries ranged from minor to moderate. It is unclear how the crash occurred.

Prepare for More Traffic, Increased Accident Risk in Summer Months

With school letting out and summer vacations beginning, more drivers will be taking to the roadways in the coming months. Thus, drivers should prepare for increased congestion on the roads. They should also continue to practice safe driving habits, including eliminating distractions and always wearing a seat belt.

“Our thoughts are with the victims recovering from this accident. As we head into summer and more people are on the roadways traveling, we all need to continue to practice safe driving habits,” said Attorney Walter Clark, founder of Walter Clark Legal Group.
